For Hide

2008-03-30

Playing with X Japan was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Thanks to everyone who came to the shows. Richard Fortus and I tried to do our best with Sugizo to fill the massive hole left in the band where Hide once stood. I’m forever honored to have been part of the experience. To all the X Japan fans that didn’t think I belonged there: I’m sorry if I ruined your time. I was trying to help my friend Yoshiki in the only way I knew how. I hope you can forgive the intrusion. I had an amazing time and I think the shows turned out to be really special. There may be more to come. I’m looking forward to coming home and getting back to work on the next BLB album. Thanks, -Wes

The power of Chris compels you!!!

2008-03-17

Cover Your Heart is done. The editing on Anvil Pants (our movie) is done. The remixes are in and, like the Voltron Lions, are being assembled into a massive cartoon killing machine known as Cover Your Heart and The Anvil Pants Odyssey. We know the name is stupid, but so are we and so are you, so get over yourselves. The brand new Mesopotamia Assyrian Mix by Mighty Ancient Tongue (Scott Borland and Kyle Weeks) is up on the page. Look out for the full release this coming summer. Also, it looks like Cruel Melody is finally coming out in Europe and Japan this summer, Holy Matmos! That took forever and a year huh? Anyway, I gotta get back into the studio where we’re working on the next full length "real album". Also, I’m not in Munky from Korn’s new band. I played on 2 songs, and am doing the artwork, but I’m not in the band and apparently there was a press release that I was told made it sound like I’m a member. The only band I’m in is Black Light Burns. Kapeesh? -Wes

MIA

2008-03-05

We may be MIA, but we're almost done mixing the covers record and the first drums session for the NEW (next, non-covers) record starts on Monday......

.....The important thing is I got my 1971 Flickinger console back from way down south today. That thing has the power of the babe in it. You know, Labyrinth style. The power of voo-doo, who do? You do. Do what? Remind me of the babe.

The Next "Real" Album

2008-02-19

We're mixing the covers album during the last week of February. As soon as we're done with that, we're starting drum tracks on 15 new original songs for album number 2. I'm producing the second BLB record, so don't be surprised if you hear a lot less keyboard/programming and a lot MORE guitar/bass/drums. The new stuff is more aggressive on the whole than Cruel Melody was, with a sound that's similar to the production of the yet to be heard "Cover Your Heart and The Anvil Pants Odyssey". That being said, there are still some mellow moments, but they do not hold on for as long as they do on CM. The hope is to put the covers/dvd out by June and the next record out by November while getting a few tours in there too. We're working our asses off to make all this happen according to plan. Thanks for checking in here and as always, thanks for the constant support everyone. -Wes

In the tubes

2008-01-31

Everyone: The covers album is coming along nicely since we've pretty much been in the studio without a breather for the last week. Can't wait to show you what we've been up to! We'll probably put one of the new songs up soon! Mom: I promise to call and catch up soon. I love you lots, -Wes

54 shows down, 6 to go

2007-08-03

Well we've been out for almost 3 months straight now and have 54 shows under our belts. I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone that came out. The response has been overwhelming. We are going to finish up this run with a bang, do a one off radio festival in Portland, Oregon on August 26th, and then go back out most likely near the end of September. To all our friends in Europe: I AM: Wolfpack is still in the process of securing distribution over there, and it makes no sense for us to book dates until Cruel Melody is on it's way to being on shelves. Everywhere else in the world should fall into place after we nail down what we're doing in Europe. We'll see you soon! -Wes
